ABOUT US

We both grew up in Irondequoit and never met until later in life.  It was love at first sight for the both of us.  We had our first date on December 8, 2002 and have been inseparable ever since.  For the past eight years, Aldo has worked at General Transportation Services as a truck driver for Eber Brother's.  I have worked at Entre Computer Services as an Administrative Assistant for two years.  We both will be living in Pittsford after we get married.

HOW WE MET

Aldo and I met on November 28, 2002 under very sad circumstances for my family.  It was Thanksgiving day and it started out like any other Thanksgiving for my family.  My mother was getting things ready for everyone to come over and my brother and I were at my Aunt MaryJo's.  My brother is a volunteer fireman for Ridge Culver and he heard a call come across his pager for someone on my Aunt Judy's street.  He couldn't remember my aunt's house number, so he called my father to ask him.  Once my brother heard the house number, David told my father that we better get to the hospital because something was wrong with Uncle Charlie.  My brother and I rushed to the hospital and by the time we got there he was already gone.  After we said our goodbyes, we all headed back to my mother's house because we hadn't eaten all day and she had all of that food.  Family and friends came over to our house.  My cousin Chuck's friends also came over to offer their condolences.  One of them was Aldo.  My mother said Aldo was there with his two brothers - Lenny and Mike.  I really don't remember them being there.  The day of the wake, Aldo was there.  My Aunt MaryJo and I were talking to Aldo for a little while and I thought he was a nice guy.  Very shy and quiet.  A few days after the funeral my cousin Kim called me and wanted to know what I thought about Aldo.  I said I really didn't get a chance to talk to him all that much but I thought he was very nice.  She asked what I thought about going out with him.  I said that I wouldn't mind going out with him - only if he was interested - which he was.

I was at my cousin's one night helping out with the Thank You notes from the funeral.  Aldo had called my cousin Chuck and Chuck talked Aldo into coming over.  Aldo was hesitant at first because he had just gotten out of work and he hadn't gone home yet to shower.  A little while later, Aldo showed up.  We all talked for a little while and then my aunt and cousin's left the room, leaving the two of us alone.  After ten minutes of sitting in front of the TV without much talking I finally said to him, "So I heard you wanted to go out"? He started laughing and he said yes.

Our first date was on December 8, 2002.  He thought after having such a sad time that week, that he would take me to some place fun.  So he decided to take me to Jillian's.  When we got there the place was empty so we had the whole place to ourselves.  We were both shy at first, but we loosened up after a while.  We ate and played some games, and I think I beat him at air hockey.  Aldo's story is that he let me win, and he's sticking to it.

Well, we have been together ever since.  We are so very happy together.  We have talked about how my Uncle Charlie was watching over me.  Who would of thought that I would meet someone at a funeral.  Not me, that is for sure.

Thank you Uncle Charlie (my Godfather).  I love you and miss you very much.
